This demo was part of an assignment for a class I took in 2024, Gameplay Programming 1.
This was the first assignment in the class and my first time using Unreal outside of classroom demonstrations and I think it holds up pretty well.
One of the main focuses I had when taking this course was making sure I was more familiar with the tools than less since I knew this would be the only class focused on using Unreal Engine and I felt that developing strong fundamentals would be very important.
Overall the game is very simple, two types of enemies spawn and the player must either jump over or slide under the enemy depending on the type. I put a considerable amount of effort into making sure everything actually looked nice instead of looking good enough and I think for both this assignment and the following Unreal Assignment the work I put into aesthetics paid off.
